It’s almost the end of January and we’ve been enjoying sweet and juicy strawberries freshly delivered from Parkesdale Farms.
This year strawberry season has started and the strawberries have been outstanding. In October, Parkesdale Farms planted approximately 220 acres between Dover and Plant City.
We are the lucky recipients of their hard work. Parkesdale Farms planted 4.4 MILLION strawberry plants. Can you even picture that many plants?!?!?
In case you were wondering, Parkesdale Farms is expecting those plants to produce approximately 7 MILLION pounds of strawberries during strawberry season.
A lot of the strawberries will be used for our strawberry milkshakes and strawberry shortcakes. Some of the strawberries will be packaged in full flats and half flats to be sold at the market.
The rest of Parkesdale Farms strawberries will be packaged in 1 pound clamshell containers to be shipped through out the United States. You can find Parkesdale Farms strawberries under the GemPak and Well-Pict labels at your local supermarket.
