What if everybody ran? Mizuno

I started running when I signed up for my first triathlon back in 2005.  After having two babies, I started running again around 2009.  Shortly after, my obsession with running the Disney Wine and Dine half marathon began.  It wasn’t until November 2012 I ran my first half marathon.  Disney Wine and Dine would have to wait another year.  I finally ran in it 2013 and it was amazing.

But the point of this blog post is the new Mizuno campaign: What if everybody ran?  Mizuno hired a group of statisticians to run the numbers.  See what I did there?

Mizuno

I’m definitively more of a morning runner than a night runner.  I find that if I just get up and go my run gets done.  If I postpone it for the evening, I start finding excuses to stay in and clean the closets for instance.  Who does that?

Mizuno

With all of that extra energy spent on running and waking up early to get my runs in, I definitively fall asleep faster on running days.

This has to be my favorite.  I’m always encouraging my girls to go play outside.  While I’ve been running on a treadmill more lately, I definitively enjoy running much better outside.

These are the Mizuno Hitogamis I won in a twitter chat with FitFluential and Mizuno.  I hope this inspires you to get out there and enjoy the outdoors.  Even if you are not a runner, start walking today.  Your body will thank you later.

Parkesdale and the Florida Strawberry Festival

As you can imagine the market has been super busy this week during the Florida Strawberry Festival.  We’ve been running around restocking shelves as fast as we can to keep up with all of our customers.  We finally made it to the Festival this past Tuesday.  Here are some pictures from our night at the Florida Strawberry Festival.

Roy and Helen Parke Main Exhibition Hall

Our first stop is always the Roy and Helen Parke Main Exhibition Hall.  That’s where our farm and greenhouse have their booth.

The Florida Strawberry Festival has a different theme each year.  This year’s theme is “Florida’s Best Family Recipe”.  Between our strawberry cookies, strawberry shortcake and strawberry milkshakes we definitively have some great family recipes.

Our Parkesdale Greenhouses also has a booth at the Florida Strawberry Festival.  You can find great ornamental, vegetable and fruit plants at our booth.  After visiting the family, it was time for some food and rides.

You definitively want to come hungry to the Florida Strawberry Festival.  There are so many great food choices.  You can smell the bbq everywhere you go.

As always, the girls had a great time running from ride to ride.  It was a bit different this year.  We didn’t go in the kiddie section.  They wanted to ride all the roller coasters and rides like this one below.

Festival rides

Thankfully, they settled for this one instead.

Rides

A visit to the Florida Strawberry Festival would not be complete without our yearly picture.
