Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted Friday Favorites. Here are some of my favorites I’ve been meaning to share with you. We are almost at the end of strawberry season. This Sunday will be the last day for strawberry shortcake and Parkesdale strawberries. So maybe you should stop by this weekend. But while you are here, please make sure to check out our current giveaways here and here.
Bolthouse Farms
A while back one of my favorite bloggers, Kath, held a twitter chat with Bolthouse Farms. The purpose of the twitter chat was to promote healthy foods as part of Bolthouse Farms #FoodPornIndex campaign. Bolthouse Farms created the Food Porn Index to collect food porn hashtags and track what kinds of foods we’re all sharing. Their marketing campaign has gotten some attention even NPR was talking about it. Inside the package I received there was a new to me product. Did you know Bolthouse Farms made salad dressings? I didn’t. The salad dressing was very good. I’m usually making my own dressing so it was a nice surprise to try an already made dressing that tasted this great.
My favorite part about their juices is that they actually taste like what their name or picture indicates. I have yet to try one of their juices I didn’t enjoy. I also got to try their coffee drinks as well as their protein shakes. Both were delicious and neither was overly sweet or chalky tasting. I was happy to see both Publix and Winn Dixie had them as buy one, get one free specials these last two weeks.
Marshalls is coming to Plant City!
Recently Ross came to Plant City and while I am happy about them being there I secretly hoped and wondered if Marshalls would ever come near me. Low and behold, Construction has started right next to Ross for our very own Marshalls. I am so so so very excited about this. I have been shopping at Marshalls for years that was until I moved to Plant City. Getting in and out of the Brandon one was such a mess that I barely stopped there. So you can see why I’m so excited to have one so close to my house. I could almost bike there! So thank you Marshalls for bringing quality clothing at great prices to Plant City!
Color Me Rad
This year I will finally run the Color Me Rad 5k in Tampa. I’m hoping The girls will be able to join me. From everything I’ve heard this is definitively a family event type race where kids can safely run without being a safety issue. A couple of our cashiers participated last year and we purchased “Parkesdale Girls” shirts for the, to wear at the event. Stay tuned for a chance to win 2 entries to run with us on May 24 at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa.
Keel and Curley Blueberry Festival
This weekend Keel and Curley is hosting their annual Tampa Bay Blueberry Festival right here in Plant City. This will be our third year participated at this event. If you haven’t made it there yet, I encourage you to go check it out this weekend. There’s free admission, free entertainment and even a free kids area. You’ll be able to pick blueberries and check out over 100 food and craft vendors. The event is now three days starting on Friday, April 25 through Sunday, April 27th. I hope to see you there!
